Dr. Michael P. Steward, DDS
Growing up as a “military brat”, Dr. Steward spent several years living along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. His father was stationed in Pascagoula, Mississippi and although Dr. Steward eventually left Mississippi, it was during those years that he developed a fondness for the deep-south. Dr. Steward completed his undergraduate education at Louisiana Tech University. He received a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University, and then graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in 1999. While at LSU he received the award for Outstanding Service in Public Health Dentistry.
Upon graduating, Dr. Steward began his career as a dental officer in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he was offered the opportunity to return to Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. He accepted a position at the same duty station where his father once served. His love for south Mississippi again became a strong influence in his life. He knew that he would make the Mississippi Gulf Coast his permanent home. Once he finished his four years of service in the Navy, Dr. Steward began working in private practice initially in Moss Point, Mississippi and then permanently in Gautier, Mississippi.
He is a member of the Mississippi Dental Association as well as the American Dental Association. He is active in the local study club and exceeds continuing education requirements yearly. He also continues his Public Health outreach and charitable dental work through Mississippi’s Donated Dental services and The National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Dr. Steward is married to the former Peggy Beery of Pascagoula, and they have one son Patrick. Outside of the office, he enjoys boating, golfing, and working around the house.
Dr. Steward and his staff are dedicated to providing the best care possible in a comfortable atmosphere. Each operatory is equipped with TVs and nitrous oxide when necessary. He is not only interested in providing you with the highest quality of care, but involving you in all treatment decisions. This allows you to become an active partner in achieving a healthy, beautiful smile that will last you the rest of your life.
